The Instructional Assistant - Health Sciences provides support to the instructors who teach in the Health Sciences area and to the Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing. In addition to performing general office duties for the instructors, this candidate will also manage various budgets and order supplies necessary for the smooth operation of the department.
This position will remain open until filled.
The duties of the Instructional Assistant - Health Sciences include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and schedule meetings and appointments
- Organize and maintain files
- Disseminate information by using the telephone, mail services, and e-mail
- Organize and maintain files to include, but not limited to, receiving program applications, utilizing data from the Datatel system, and scanning documentation
- Greet students and visitors
- Respond to phone requests for information
- Create spreadsheets, compose correspondence, and manage databases
- Schedule placement assessments
- Coordinate with other departments within the College
- Process budget requests and manage budget data
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the use of a variety of office equipment to include fax machine, photocopier, scanner, and telephone systems
- Excellent typing, public relations, communications, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Working knowledge of the Datatel Colleague system preferred
