About Us

Caswell Center Foundation was established in 1999 to enhance the quality of life for persons at Caswell Developmental Center and in eastern North Carolina with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Three mini grant programs help assist individuals and their families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Project PRIDE (PRiority to Individuals with Disabilities in the East) is a community based mini grant program. Project FAST (Family Assistance Support Tool) was established through special funding to assist the family unit and Project HOME (Helping Our Individuals Maximize their Everyday Lives) was established for individuals at Caswell Developmental Center
Caswell Center Foundation also assists in providing educational opportunities for staff at Caswell Developmental Center and professionals in the eastern region who provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. In 2003, Foundation started its annual aging workshop series. These types of educational opportunities provided a wealth of knowledge from nationally known speakers that help enhance the quality of care individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities receive.
